When I grow up I want to be a cat is not just a personal memoir about being educated whilst having Autism. The book interviews nine other autistic adults about their experiences in the hope of highlighting that we are all different. Once you have met one person with autism you really have just met one person with Autism. The book also interviews my parents, support worker, and teachers. It aims to strike up a collaborative conversation between Autistic individuals, educators, parents, health professionals, and support workers in order to better understand how to support those we care about so much. The book bangs the drum for client-centered care and personalization in practice.
